AAA Students Receive Water-logged Education

By Rainier Echoes

On September 2, the Auburn Adventist Academy students and staff enjoyed a day of rest, relaxation, fun and games at Lake Tapps. Thanks to the generosity of community members, students lined the dock waiting for their turn to go tubing, some for the very first time.

While some enjoyed the water sports, others preferred staying on dry ground. “I loved watching the students interact with each other outside class,” said Mrs. Russell, English teacher at AAA. “Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the day-to-day stresses that we forget how important it is to get out in the sun and learn to interact in new ways.”

Some of the student’s favorite activities from the day included tubing on the boats, tossing the football around, playing several rounds of Spike ball with new friends, relaxing in the shade, and breaking in AAA’s new paddle boards. New senior, McKenna Craik, said it best, “It gave us a great opportunity to bond with our new classmates. Some of my best friendships started that day because of the ability to let down in a relaxed environment and have meaningful conversations with new people.”
