February Media Rundown

Updated: Jan 29, 2021

January and February are commonly known as “dump months'' for movies. Blockbusters usually don’t release during these months because producers often take advantage of the holiday season in December because it’s really marketable. However, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t any new shows during these months. I would like to share some shows that have recently come out, and give you a sneak peek at some that are to come...stay tuned for the monthly movie quote and fun fact at the end of the article!

Upcoming:

  • To All the Boys: Always and Forever- This teen romcom will be released on Netflix on February 12. It’ll be the third and final installment of the trilogy based on the book series by Jenny Han.

  • The Falcon and The Winter Soldier- This show will air on Disney+ on March 19. It’ll follow Bucky (the Winter Soldier) and Sam (Falcon.) There will be six episodes that will be sure to make you wish for more. Let’s hope it’ll be a great addition to phase four of the MCU!

  • WandaVision- 4 episodes have already released Disney+, but the good news is we still have 5 more to look forward to! Some people are a bit confused about what's going on in the show (including me) but I’m sure the next few episodes will give us hints as to what is going on.

  • Stranger Things: Season 4- Originally, the fourth season of this sci/fi horror series was supposed to come out early in 2021. However, due to COVID, they had to delay production. Now, it’s supposed to arrive on Netflix around Christmas time, or at least sometime in the latter half of 2021.

December 10 of last year was a good day for Marvel and Star Wars fans. The official Star Wars, Disney and Marvel Instagram accounts went on a posting spree announcing a bunch of new upcoming projects that are in the works. We don’t know the release date of all of them, but here are a few to look forward to:

  • Rangers Of The New Republic

  • Ahsoka

  • Obi-Wan Kenobi - (Hayden Christiansen is returning as Darth Vader, how cool is that?!)

  • Secret Invasion

  • Moon Knight

  • She Hulk

  • Armor Wars

  • The Book of Boba Fett

  • Luca

Movie Fact Of The Month:

We all know of Pixar’s movie Ratatouille, right? Well, did you know that after the release of the movie, the sales of pet rats, at one domestic pet store, increased by 50%?

Movie Quote Of The Month:

“Even the smallest person can change the course of the future.” -Galadriel “The Lord of The Rings.”
