Everything you need to know about your favorite upcoming movies and T.V. shows!

Make sure you read till the end for a fun movie fact and movie quote of the month!

Where’s the excitement?

Overall, 2020 certainly hasn’t been the biggest year for movies because of theaters closing and AMC nearly going bankrupt. However, amongst all of the chaos surrounding the virus, there have been some very good releases and even more soon to come. Here, I’ve compiled a list of some of the most talked about upcoming films and shows. Once this article has been published, some of them have already come out, but you should still check out these shows!

  1. Wonder Woman 1984. Set to come out December 5, 2020, fans are eagerly awaiting the sequel to the highly successful first Wonder Woman movie. Gal Gadot once again stars as the heroine herself.

  2. Season 2 of the Mandalorian. From a recent poll I conducted on Instagram, the Mandalorian was by far the most talked about. The first episode of season 2 was released October 30, 2020, and since then, episodes have been released every Friday. Once again it follows the Mandalorian and The Child (basically named baby yoda by fans.) At the end of the first episode, a fan favorite character Boba Fett appeared for a few seconds. In a recent episode, even Bo Katan from the clone wars showed up, which was really cool. Hopefully we’ll see more of these characters.

  3. The Croods: A New Age. This movie also popped up a few times in the poll on Instagram. The second Croods movie has a release date of November 25, 2020. By the time this article is published, it will have already been released. Hopefully it turns out to be just as good as the previous one.

  4. Attack On Titan Season 4. This show was suggested a few times on the Instagram poll also. Fans of this highly successful anime are buzzing with anticipation for the final season. The release date is set to be December 7, 2020. With a change in studio, will the final season be up to par with the past three seasons? We’ll find out.

  5. WandaVision. Marvel fans have had quite a dry year. With the last MCU movie coming out over a year ago, there’s definitely been a lot of people wanting more. This DisneyPlus T.V. show is set to come out January 15, 2021. Centered around Wanda Maximoff (Scarlet Witch) and Vision. (The robot thing Tony Stark made in “Age of Ultron”) Fans aren’t 100% sure what the series is going to be about, but judging from the trailers it seems to be a partial comedy.

  6. Chaos Walking. This movie stars Daisy Ridley (Also known for playing Rey in the newer Star Wars movies) and Tom Holland, (Best known for playing Spiderman in the MCU.) It's set to come out January 22, 2021. It's a Sci-Fi-Action movie based on a book of the same name.

  7. Soul. This Disney/Pixar film is coming out on Christmas Day (December 25 obviously.) Many people have compared the plot to another Pixar movie "Inside Out." However, instead of being about people's emotions, it seems to be about people's souls. It'll be premiering on DisneyPlus. Unlike Disney's live action "Mulan," you won't have to pay an extra fee to watch it when it comes out.

Movie Fact of the Month:

And now…..for the movie fact of the month! One of the most beloved Pixar movies, Toy Story 2, was nearly deleted. The story behind this fact is that the master machine that stored all of the animation for the film, somehow accidentally deleted 90% of all the work the animators did. The backup system also failed, so it seemed like the animators had just lost all of their hard work. Thankfully, the film's technical director had a copy on a flash drive that she had been working on from home that restored most of the work.

Movie Quote Of The Month:

“Do or do not, there is no try” -Yoda “The Empire Strikes Back.
