New Schedule School Pick-Up In China

As students we know our time off of school is different than parent’s time off work. This thing is happening especially for kids in lower grades. When kids are young, they have an early dismissal from school and more care is needed for them after school. As a parent, it is hard to pick them up just when school dismisses. This happens to most parents.

There is good news for parents in several cities in China. The department of education of China put a few cities in an experiment to solve the problem. Guangzhou and Shenzhen started the experiment policy that started after care for free for students who needed it. The after-school care is required to have 1-2 sessions which should be covered after school time until 5:00 PM which is the time when parents normally get off work. Due to the earlier policy, the first and second grade students should have no paper homework, and for 3rd-6th grade students, homework should take less than 1 hour to complete. Which means student’s homework should be done by the end of after school care. This reduces parent’s time to watch students finish their homework at home.

In recent years, the department of education of China is trying to reduce parent pressure to make students attend school. As well as parent’s pressure to take care of students who attend compulsory education which is 1st-9th grade in school. I think there should be more and more good news to reduce parent pressure to take care of a child attending compulsory education schools.
