This article is a dedication to all the senior Auburn Adventist Academy sports players. I asked five Auburn sports members to describe their time playing sports over the four years that they have been here. The five seniors that I have interviewed are Caleb Bruce, Joy Edwards, Landen Hubin, Charles Rawls, and Charlotte Smith. These five students have worked hard to not only make it to their senior year, but they worked hard to participate in competitive sports for four years of their high school journey. I asked these students to describe their sports career at auburn in a few short sentences.
Caleb Bruce- “I have been involved in sports here at Auburn for 4 years. My experience has been great, but the best part of it all has to be the tournaments we go to. My favorite was the Walla Walla basketball tournament last year. We won the whole thing and overall it was a great team bonding experience. In summary, I enjoyed my experience here and if I could do it all over again I would.”
Joy Edwards- “My experience with sports here at AAA has been wonderful. Getting involved with soccer and basketball made me come out of my shell. I made great memories with the amazing people on my team, all of whom I am forever grateful for.”
Charles Rawls- “Even though our sports season was cut in half us, seniors really made the most of it. I personally took my anger at covid out in the game which pushed me even harder than I already go. Also, I gave it my all not only in the games when we needed it, but also in practice. A thing I’m going to leave you with is never be satisfied.”
Charlotte Smith- “I have been on the girls soccer team for four years. I’ve had many ups and downs playing soccer but I’ve always enjoyed it and pushed hard to improve myself. I’ve enjoyed working with my team members and having fun. When I leave auburn I think I will miss the girls soccer team the most.”
