The moment we have all been waiting for has finally arrived. Auburn sports have started their seasons and we are all excited to see our teams win and have fun. Soccer, Cross Country and Volleyball have all been doing great. We are very grateful for the Auburn staff and the coaches for their time and dedication to take the time to come to Auburn and to coach us and make us better players.
I asked Almonds Sebirokwa a couple of questions about how he feels about auburn sports, this is what he said.
If we are talking specifically about sports, the biggest rules that are hard to follow would have to be social distancing as well as wearing the danky danky mask. These rules are hard to follow because as athletes none of us are used to wearing a piece of cloth on our face as we work out and run. Social distancing is also a challenge because we as humans naturally want to be close to one another and because of that staying separate is something we have to consciously remind ourselves of day in and day out. And that can just be weird. It can also be annoying because on the field those rules seem to disappear. But If this is what we have to do to be able to play, then that's what we'll do.
Personally I feel like the sports guidelines just contradict each other left and right but at the same time, you have to remember that the people making these rules have a lot of factors that they have to take into account when making these decisions. So though they don't necessarily all make sense, I appreciate that we have the opportunity to be able to do athletics. "Good morning!" -Mr. Underhill
As a participant of Auburn sports, I'm happy to say that we now have three sports seasons I hope we all do our best, win and most importantly, have fun. Go Falcons!
